The film leaves me a bit cold and disappointed. The way the movie is orchestrated was a bit surprising. Park breaks up the established mood with unnecessary, strange scenes (the neighbors wacking-off to the pains of Ryu's sister or the jerky handicap with the strange fetish for children's jewelry). Not to mention the lean and simple characteristics of the main characters. Though, I did enjoy most of the visual qualities of the film. Overall, I would say Vengeance is a movie of syle over quality. It leaves me questioning the next installment in the trilogy, Oldboy.
